Monday, 17 June 2024 - Telecom Namibia is delighted to announce a 5-year transformative partnership with Huawei Technologies Namibia. Huawei is a global leader in Mobile Technology Solutions. This strategic collaboration marks a significant step forward in revolutionizing the Telecom Namibia mobile network capabilities and coverage across the country.
As part of the company’s five-year Integrated Strategic Business Plan (ISBP) 2027, Telecom Namibia intends to invest in the tn mobile network modernisation and coverage expansion. This will include the rolling out of new and upgrading existing mobile base stations across the country. Under the terms of the agreement, Telecom Namibia will procure cutting-edge mobile radio access equipment from Huawei to bolster its mobile network capacity and coverage across the country, including previously underserved areas. The partnership will facilitate the deployment of advanced mobile radio access technology such as 4G, 4.5G, and 5G in order to bring quality, fast, and reliable mobile broadband services to tn mobile consumers.
During the signing ceremony Telecom Namibia's CEO, Dr. Stanley Shanapinda, emphasized that, “As a committed provider of reliable and high-speed mobile services nationwide, we are excited to join forces with Huawei to bring transformative solutions to our customers. This collaboration underscores our dedication to delivering unparalleled mobile connectivity and bridging the digital divide in communities across our country.”
The integration of Huawei state-of-the art equipment into Telecom Namibia’s network will enable the deployment of next-generation technologies, empowering users with faster data speeds, and improved reliability, whereas expansion in coverage through the deployment of new sites will enable seamless connectivity. By leveraging Huawei expertise and innovation, Telecom Namibia aims to accelerate the expansion of its mobile network footprint and deliver enhanced services to both urban and rural areas across the country.
Mr. Michael Zhang, Managing Director of Huawei Namibia, also conveyed their gratitude and honor for being chosen as partners for the upcoming wireless network upgrade and transformation phase.
