WINDHOEK, NAMIBIA – September 5, 2025 – Telecom Namibia employees, led by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Stanley Shanapinda, and EXCO members, came together this morning for the "Come Run/Walk With Us @33" fun walk. The well-attended event was a lively celebration of the company's 33rd anniversary, symbolizing a shared journey of progress, wellness, and unity.
In a symbolic gesture, a large number of Telecom Namibia staff completed a 3.3-kilometer walk in honor of the company's 33 years of existence. The procession, which began at the Telecom Namibia Head Office, wound through the city streets under a City Police escort.
In his address to the staff, Dr. Shanapinda emphasized the deeper meaning behind the final event. "Today, we are gathered not just to walk but to celebrate 33 years of resilience, innovation, and unity." He added that the fun walk was a "living metaphor," where "every step represents progress" and "every stride reflects teamwork." The CEO thanked the staff, acknowledging that they are "the reason we’ve reached 33 of strength and vision," and concluded by stating, "The road ahead is full of opportunity and I’m proud to run it with you."
The fun walk was the final event in a series of celebrations for the anniversary. The festivities began on July 31, 2025, with a visit to the Katutura Old Age Home where staff delivered essential food items and goods to 22 residents and their caregivers, reinforcing the company's commitment to social responsibility and community upliftment. This was followed by a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony held at the head office, as well as at all other Telecom Namibia offices countrywide, to commemorate the occasion.
Telecom Namibia remains dedicated to building lasting relationships with the community and its employees. This three-part celebration serves as a testament to the company's values and its vision for a connected, healthy, and unified future.
