Windhoek, 17 January 2020 – Please note that we are experiencing an interruption in connectivity to the submarine cable systems. This is affecting in and outbound internet connection to international destinations, as well as some local and South African bound internet connectivity. Some services providers in Southern Africa are also affected.

Tests are being conducted on various segments of the cable systems. The respective consortiums for the SAT3 and WACS submarine cables are attending to the outage and further updates will be provided.

Telecom Namibia is engaging partners to acquire alternative capacity on the East coast of Africa.

We will be sharing updates as they become available. Telecom Namibia apologises for the inconvenience this may cause.
