Description
This is a Maritime Radio Service that provides a coastal and inland service that includes three main modes of communications, namely radiotelephone, fax and wireless telegraphy. It carries out vital functions as part of the International Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) agreement.
Product/service Benefits
- This service includes 24-hour watch keeping on the following international distress and safety frequencies: 16 VHF, 2182 kHz, 4125 kHz, 6215 kHz and 500 kHz.
- The transmission and monitoring of safety related messages, weather forecasts and reports, Navigation warnings and Navtex broadcasts, connection to medical advice and evacuation assistance as well as other associated safety services. It also provides a manual and automatic radiotelephone service for vessels along the Namibian coast.
