Wireless LAN access offers telecommunication services through the use of radio-based technology. This technology provides 24/7 dedicated Internet access between customers and Internet Service Providers (ISP’s). Fast packet-base data is transmitted through the air to the customer premises and at the customer premises Telecom Namibia will install an outdoor radio unit and an indoor network terminator. Wireless LAN provides a wireless access infrastructure, using line-of-sight radio links up to a range of 15 kilometers. Wireless LAN access is ideal for providing dedicated IP data access to selected areas.

This technology will introduce and improve the availability of Wireless LAN service offered by Telecom Namibia.
