Telecom Namibia Limited announced today that it has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Engagement of an Advertising Agent for the Telecom Namibia Print Directory with TDS Namibia (Pty) Limited.

The agreement was signed in Windhoek on Thursday (19th January 2012) by Mr. Frans Ndoroma, Telecom Namibia Managing Director and Mr. Johan Myburgh, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Trudon (Pty) Ltd, which previously traded as TDS Directory Operations (Pty) Limited, the South African holding company of TDS Namibia (Pty) Limited.

TDS Namibia (Pty) Limited is a joint venture between Trudon (Pty) Ltd and Ripanga Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a Namibian BEE entity with 25 per cent equity in TDS Namibia (Pty) Limited.

In terms of the agreement, TDS Namibia (Pty) Limited will now serve as the advertising agency for the Telecom Namibia Print Directory responsible for its compilation,

which includes the design, sales, marketing and production of the entire Telecom Namibia Directory on the basis of information supplied by Telecom Namibia.

The contract, which runs for five years through 2016/2017, is anticipated to be in the amount of approximately N$174 million over its term.
